UIDAI allows holders of Aadhaar cardsto change their address with no need for documentation. Aadhaar cardholders were permitted to modify their address, but only if they don't have evidence of their identity.
New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India has temporarily halted a vital facility which lets you change the address of your Aadhaar card's address with no identity proof.
UIDAI permits people with Aadhaar cards to change their address and address without any form of documentation. Aadhaar card holders are able to update their address, as long as they consent to the authentication and verification process of an address verifier. An address verifier could be a relative, friend, landlord or family member who allows the Aadhaar card user to utilize their address for proof.
UIDAI has stopped this feature. UIDAI replied to an Aadhaar Card owner via Twitter, stating that it is no longer possible to update the address on the Aadhaar Card through an Address Validation Letter was canceled. UIDAI has asked to the Aadhaar issuer to advise users that they can update their address using a accepted PoA document.
Dear Resident Dear Resident: The service for the Address Validation Letter service has been taken off until further notice. Kindly request your address update using another valid PoA document from the list https://t.co/BeqUA0pkqL
